Salute to Parents Blog Hop

Welcome to our Mother's Day and Father's Day Blog Hop!  Expect to see some great cards, layouts and projects that will hopefully inspire you to find a handmade way to show your love for your parents.
And what would a Blog Hop be without prizes??
This month, we have a lovely offering from Shannon Leffew.  Here's what she has to say about herself:
Hello! I am a wife and SAHM of 4. I have been scrapbooking since 1997 and have since fell in love doing altered projects. I created my etsy store to earn a little extra income. I feature mostly flowers in my store but I will also do custom orders for almost anything. In my spare time I also like to garden, take pics, read and host parties. Please stop by my blog and leave me some love http://shannonleffew.blogspot.com .  I would also love it if you would visit me at my Etsy store HERE
Pictured is just a sampling of her flowers.
So, check out our offerings here, and then hop on down the list to see what everyone else has in store for your viewing pleasure.  Don't forget to leave a little love at each blog. Everyone who does gets a chance to win some beautiful flowers from Shannon!  Then come back here and tell us a favorite story about your mom or dad.  After all, where would we be without our parents!

  1. What a wonderful tribute to all the women of the world. Everyone is either a mom, sister, aunt, etc. I herald us all. Love the design team cards - especially love the purple theme on Judy's card! WOO HOO!

  2. Great cards, good stories of parents. Since I told my fave story about my dad, I'll tell one about my mom here. She is my hero. Here's an embarassing story but my mom shines in my eyes because of it.
In first grade, I took everything literally. So when the teacher said we were taking a test and do not raise your hand for anything, I was a very dutiful student, even when I had to go to the bathroom so bad. yes, you guessed it, I sat where I was and peed in my chair. The office called my mom and while I waited in the bathroom stall, the school nurse was scolding me and embarassing me to no end. When my mom came in I thought she was going to punish me. Instead she tols the nurse to go back to work, then handed me the change of clothes, hugged me and took me back to class. That was it, but it was enough. And later when dinner was on the table, I discovered she had made my favorite food. Not a word was said about my "incident", which was the perfect response as far as I was concerned. I love her for that and so much more!!
p.s. I have better control of my bladder, thank you very much, and don't take things quite so literally anymore!! LOL

  6. Great bunch of gals to Blog Hop with! and wonderful stories. Another one of my MOM memories is when I was as big as a whale with a 3wk overdue baby, and DH brought home 3, 5 gallon buckets of black raspberries cause he wanted cobbler..don't think he was too happy with MIL (she'd already been there a month to "help") when she informed him he needed to get busy washing them and bagging them so I didn't have to....the cobbler WAS yummy! <> Carolyn

  7. What a great blog hop and they did such a beautiful job! I have so many memories of my mom it is just so hard to pick one but one of them was when I was a young teen and wanted to go out (with a boy) and my mom said no. She later came up to my room and sat on my bed and told me why she said no and then told me I would understand one day. At the time I was upset with her but just as she said when I got older I did understand. But that "talk" was a real heart to heart talk and I can still picture her talking to me. That was one of my favorite memories of her.
